Dean Gazeley Picco was born on Vancouver Island in 1960. He studied art at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and at the Ecole Albert Defois in Anjou, France in the atelier of  Ted Seth Jacobs.

Gazeley has been exhibiting professionally for more than two decades in Canada, the US, Mexico, and France. His work has been the subject of solo exhibitions in some of the most prestigious venues in Mexico, including the Museo Casa Diego Rivera, the Hospicio Cabañas, and the XXX Festival Internacional Cervantino.  Click here if you would like to read his curriculum vitae.

A highly-regarded portraiture artist, Gazeley was selected in 2011 to paint the portraits of two Federal Senators of Mexico. These works now hang in the Presidents' Chamber of the Senate in Mexico City. Click here if you would like to read more about his work.

Since 1996 he has lived in Guanajuato, Mexico where he maintains his studio and teaches figure drawing.
